A 2-bedroom 'square house' is proposed as indicated on Figure I. EXISTING CONDITIONS and PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION A I-bedroom structure that utilizes an onsite wastewater system (OWS) currently exists on the subject property. The OWS consists of a concrete septic tank and an approximate 720 SF drain field with observation pipes. The septic tank is in good condition and has appropriate risers and lids. The observation pipes were dry at the time of onr observation, the drain field had adeqnate vegetation, and there was no indication of failure. SEPTIC TANK DESIGN A total of three bedrooms, and a percolation rate of 28 minutes per inch (MPI), requires a drain field area of 711 SF. Our percolation rate assumption is based on our past experience in the area and the percolation rate obtained from the neighboring properties. ISDS Garfield County Permit #1180 (neighbor to west) has a percolation rate of 15 MP!. ISDS Garfield County Permit #2008 (neighbor to north) has a percolation rate of 16 MP!. The existing I-bedroom residence and the proposed two bedroom square house may utilize the existing drain field, with the addition of a septic tank to serve the square house. A 1000-gallon, two-compartment septic tank, with an inlet tee and an effluent filter may be installed at the proposed square house. PVC and concrete risers and secure lids must be installed on the septic tank, to bring access to grade. If the septic tank is placed in a driveway concrete 'traffic rated' lids and risers must be used. The septic tank may direct effluent to the existing drain field as indicated. The septic tank should be pumped every two to three years, and the tees inspected. If required, an effluent filter should be placed on the outlet of the septic tank. The effluent filter should be cleaned as needed. LIMITS: Onsite Wastewater Systems Page 2. The design is based on information submitted. If soil conditions encountered are different from conditions described in report, ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified. All OWS construction must be according to the county regulations. Requirements not specified in this report must follow county regulations. The installer should have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. Please call with questions.
