Follow Crystal Springs lane ror approximately 113 ofa mile to the proposed culvert crossing, which will be on your right. 18. Nature of ActIvity (Description of project. Include all features) To install a 140 foot long by 60 inch diameter culvert, inlet and outlet structures, and liprap in Crystal Springs Creek to allow construction of an access drive for tbe development of a new LaFarge gravel pit east of County Road 103. The original project design proposed the widening of County Road 103 at the intersection with Highway 82, which had the likelihood of impacting the adjacent stream/wetland; however, in an effort to limit their impact. LaFarge has redesigned the Project Area to avoid any streamlwetland impacts adjacent to the County Road 103 and Highway 82 intersection. 19. Project Purpose (Describe the reason or purpose of the project, see Instructions) The existing LaFarge Corporation gravel pitju't west of the Project Area has reached the end of its operational life. Laforge Corporation has come to an agreement with the owners afthe Cerise Ranch to allow the development of a new gravel pit operation. Due to steep grades, access to the property is not practical along Highway 82. There are home sites Incated along the northern edge of the Project Area that would be impacted by truck traffico There are no roads along the eastern boundary of the Project Area. The proposed culvert installation along Crystal Springs Road (County Road 103) would provide site access while avoiding various constraints on the northern and southern ends of the Project Area. USE BLOCKS 20-23 IF DREDGED AND/OR FILL MATERIAL IS TO BE DISCHARGED 20.
