Re: Cowgill Subdivision Fire Mitigation Plan
Dear Fred:
970 945 1410 P.02
The following is provided to address the fire mitigation for the proposed lots of the
Cowgill Subdivision. I have been in communication with Bill Gavette with the
Carbondale Rural Fire Protection District, the controlling district for the area. and he has
reviewed the Preliminary Plan for the subdivision.
Mr. Gavette has determined that a centralized fire suppression system will not be required
but rather each residence should be required to install an individual sprinkler system
supplied by their private well. We propose to provide language on the Final Plat and also
in the Covenants requiring that each newly constructed residence shall have a tire
sprinkler system incorporated into the design of the structure per NFPA Section 13D.
With respect to wildfire, the site is relatively level without significant dense vegetation
growth that contributes to the spread of wildfires. Thus, the subdivision itself does not
have a high wildfire potential and according to Mr. Gavette, the individual systems
should be adequate.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
