Per Garfield County Resolution No. 2012-59, Exhibit A, Alteration to International Codes, International Residential Code
(IRC), R105.2, Work exempt from permit, item j; Decks that are not more than 30 inches above grade at any point.
In short, you do not need a building permit because the proposed deck is not over thirty (30) inches above grade. I will
forward your application for processing a refund and close the file. Brooke or Lindsay will contact you if additional
information is required.
