It shall be the responsibility of Contractor and Contractor representatives that it has: carefully exantined Summit Pipeline Specifications for the mark, inspected the route of the work, and acquainted itself thoroughly with all conditions likely to be encountered in performing the work hereunder. 2. Contractor shall comply with the Standards for Pipeline Installations and Operations within land held by BLM 3. Contractorackmowledges the inherent dangers involved in constructing near and around electric transmission power lines. Each employee of the contractor, included but not limited to the contractor direct employee, and each individual person employed by subcontracted engaged in perforating work related to the installation of the Summit' pipeline system as described in the attached drawing, will be certified by BLM to work in and around BLM's electric transmission lines. 4. Contractor shall take all necessary and proper safety precautions to protect from accident or injury, all persons (including its employees) who may be at, on or within close proximity to the premises where the work is being performed, and shall designate and appoint a qualified employee to be the Safety Supervisor for the entire project comprising the work. Such Safety Supervisor shall be responsible for the enunciation and enforcement of adequate, reasonable and proper safety Hoes and procedures and emergency procedures necessary to safely complete the nark 5. While an attempt has been made to locate existing pipelines adjacent to and crossing the proposed pipeline route, there is no guarantee that all lines have been located. The contractor shall determine the exact location Of all existing pipelines and foreign underground obstructions before commencing work The contractor agrees to be fully responsible for any and all damages which might occur due to contractor's failure to accurately locate and preserve these underground utilities Contractor is to notify all foreign line owners adjacent to or crossing their lines before construction. 6. In order to insure the safety of all parties, the contractor shall contact the Colorado One Call System (1.800-922-1987) a minimum of 43 hours prior to the commencement of any excavation activity. 7. Pipeline shall have a 6' (72") depth of cover to the top of pipe unless otherwise noted. 8. The Bidder shall provide a detailed construction schedule in graph or CPM Tom. The construction schedule shall include a staffing curve and list of equipment that the Bidder proposes to use to complete the mark contemplated herein. 9. The construction & installation of Summit gas pipeline shall comply with TOILE 49 -- Pipeline Safety Part 192 Transportation of Natural and Other Cas By Pipeline: Minimum Federal Safety Standards. 10. Welding oldie pipe shall confomt to the latest edition of the API 1104, "Standard for Welding Pipelines and Related Facilities", latest edition ofASME B31.8, and Summit Midstream Welding Standards. Each weld used to join the segment of the pipeline system will be 100% radiographic inspected and tested. 11. Coordinates listed are based on U.S. State Plane, NAD 1983 coordinates. 12. Contractor shall supply a Contingency Plan for HDD for use in the event of an unsuccessful HDD attempt or in the event of a "frac out" of drilling fluids 13. Contractor agrees to abide and comply with all terms, conditions and limitations contained in any of Company's easements, rights -of -my, licenses and pemits relating to the work and the indemnification clauses, if any, contained therein. Contractor acknowledges that it has the opportunity to examine and fully review such easements, rightsof-way, licenses and pemtits to familiarize itself of the conditions inherent in the work and for the observance of which Contractor assumes responsibility hereunder with respect to the performance and accomplishment of the nark and the obligations of indemnity expressed elsewhere in this Contract. 14. The Contractor represents that it has authority to do business in the counties of Mesa and Garfield and the state of Colorado, including possessing all necessary permits and licenses necessary for the performance and completion oldie work. 15. Pipeline routing is based on information provided by others. Actual construction routing, both open cut and bore sections, may vary as required for safety, constroctability, or for other engineering reasons. 16. ALL UNDERGROUND UTILITIES,WHETHER SHOWN ON THESE DRAWINGS OR NOT, SHOULD BE LOCATED BY THE CONTRACTOR AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO DIGGING, TRENCHING, OR BORING 17. Proposed and existing pipelines, along with all underground obstructions to be staked prior to construction. 18. All underground obstructions may not be located. Contractor is responsible for final location of underground obstructions. 19. Contractor to paint all above ground fabrications as per Sunmtit Contract, Part IV - Specifications and Drawings, Section 13. 20. Contractor to fence all above ground sites unless othennise directed. Fencing material shall be vinyl coated chain link, with slats and all fences shall be 8'-0" in height, with truck accessible gates. All above ground sites will be covered with 4" of crushed rock. 21. Company reserves the right during construction to adjust the length of the pipeline installed by trench and bore (Horizontal Directional Drill and Conventional Bores) and alignment required to meet current and future conditions. Final design detail will be recorded in the Record Drawings. 22. Drill bore profiles are estimated and the actual bore may vary. 23. Brush barriers reduce sediment leads by intercepting and slowing shed Bow from disturbed areas. Appropriate Uses A brush barrier is an appropriate BMP al sites where there In adequate brush from the clearing and grubbing of the construction site to construct an effective brush barrier. Brush barriers are typically used at the toe ofslopes and should be implemented in combination with other BMPs such as surface roughening and reseeding. Brash barriers should be considered short-term, supplemental BMPs because they are constructed of materials that naturally decompose. Brush barriers are not acceptable as a sole means of perimeter Control. but they may be used internally within a site to reduce slope length or at the site perimeter in combination with other perimeter control BMPs for multilayered protection. Brush barriers are not appropriate for high -velocity flow areas. A large amount of material is needed to construct a useful brush barrier, therefore, alternative perimeter controls such as a fabric silt fence may be more appropriate for sites with little material from clearing. Design and Installation The drainage area for brush barriers should be no greater than 0.25 acre per 100 feet or -barrier length. Additionally, the drainage scope fending down toa brush barrier must be no greater than 3:1 and no longer than 150 feet. To construct an effective brush barrier, use only small shrubs and limbs with diameters of 6 inches or less. Larger materials (such as a tree stump) can create void spaces in the barrier, making it ineffective. The brush barrier mound should be at least 3 feet high and $ feet wide at its base. In order to avoid significant movement of the brush and improve effectiveness, a filter fabric cart be placed over the top of the brush pile, keyed in on the upstream side, and anchored on the downstream side. On rhe upgradient side, the fitter fabric cover should be buried in a trench 4 inches deep and 6 inches wide. Design and Installation Minimum buffer widths may vary based on local regulations. Clearly delineate the boundary of the natural buffer area using construction fencing, silt fence, ora comparable technique. In areas that have been cleared and graded, vegetated buffers such as sod can also be installed to cream or restore a vegetated buffer around the perimeter of the site. Maintenance and Removal Inspect buffer areas for sips of erosion such as gullies or nits. Stabilize eroding arras, as needed. If erosion is due to concentrated Bow conditions, it may be necessary to install a level spreader or other technique to restore sheet flow conditions. Inspect perimeter controls delineating the vegetative buffer and repair or replace as needed.
