Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations
182 CR 259
Garfield County, Colorado
Garfield County Permit SEPT-3-14-1344
Dustin,
Installation of the onsite wastewater treatment system (OWTS) took place the week of March 23,
2014. A site visit was conducted by this office on April 14, 2013. Avalanche Excavation installed
the system.
The installation included a new 1000-gallon, two-compartment Infiltrator® plastic septic tank
followed by a 500-gallon Infiltrator® plastic pump chamber with an Orenco® PF3005 pump in a
Biotube pump vault. There is an effluent filter inside the 500-gallon pump chamber. This filter
must be cleaned annually, or as needed. The control panel for the pump is located in the
mechanical room inside the residence. Avalanche Excavation did start-up on the pump and operation
was confirmed by this office during the April 14, 2014 visit.
Effluent is pumped to a distribution box, accessible from grade, that distributes effluent to six
gravelless chamber trenches, each with 19 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers. With a total of 1500
gallons of tank capacity and 114 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers, or 1125 square feet of
infiltrative area, the OWTS is sized to accommodate 5-bedrooms in the residence.
Installation of the trenches remained shallow, between 1 and 2-feet below grade. The ditch that runs
parallel to CR 259 is being filled in and abandoned within 50-feet of the trenches.
The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee
of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if
changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according
to the county regulations.
LIMITS:
Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer
must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the
county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the
installer, soil type, and weather conditions.
Please call with questions.
Sincerely,

All that extra water can really strain
your septic system .
Do:
• Consult a septic service professional to
advise you of the proper distance for
planting trees and shrubs, depending on
your septic tank location.
Do:
• Stagger the use of water-generating
appliances. This can be helpful
especially if your system has not been
pumped in a long time.
• Become more water efficient by fixing
plumbing leaks and consider installing
bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators
and water-efficient products.
