It is proposed to reduce the size of the designatet:l 100 year

incorrect elevation data used in the original analysis, ttte
l-00 year floodplain accepted by the County was larger tharr
necessary.
III. MAJOR TSSUES AND CONCERNS
A. Zoning: Garfield county is obligated by federal Iaw t-o

the 100 year floodplain for certain areas of the County.
To modify these maps after their approval reguires th<:
amendment of the map in the same manner the County wou.l.tl
amend a zone district mall. Once the County approves tlttl
proposed amendment, all. data, along with the proof of 1lpuUfic hearing IocaIIy, is sent to FEMA for their fin;rl
approval.
B. Staf f comments : The applicant's engineeritlg dat.a t:o

at a State and Federal. Ievel prior to f inal approv;r.I.

development.
