Special Use Permit
Dear. Mr. Butler:
Enclosed per your request are 10 copies of the Site Plan and Vicinity Map for the subject
property. Also enclosed are 10 copies of the well permit for the existing well we will use. Under
S".iioo IV of Staff comments on the application, it was stated that this permit expired on Aug'
16,1996. That date was shown on the permit as the expiration date if the well were not
completed and put into service. The well was completed and has been in service since 1996' I
called the State Engineer's office and they verified that the completion report and beneficial use
notice had been submitted and that the well is approved for use as stated on the permit. Since the
well has been used for several years, do I still need to submit the items indicated in paragraph 5
of the staff recommendation section?
Neighboring property owners have been notified by certified mail about the July 10
hearing ,nJu notice has-been published in the Glenwood Post. I will mail or bring the
upp.of.iut. receipts and certifications to the hearing. The placard will be posted on the property
this weekend which will be more than 15 days prior to the hearing'
please let me know if there are additional things I should be aware of regarding the
permit application.
Yours truly,

Concerning your phone call ot'l ll2l00 .
When the Board of County Commissioners approved your request for the Special Use Permit they did so
with the conditions set forth by staff Since the water well was in prior to the "Pennit" for the accessory
d*elling unit it is assumed that the well meets the test criteria stated in condition 5. However. I wor"rld
,o a that any water coming from any well be tesed periodically for purity. horseback ridrng and
Aff,ao not mix very well.
ns,formllwh field, what I believe the Board is looking for here is a test to make sure the leach field is
,toift111sprgperly and not loading sediment and chemicals into the surrounding area that could contarninate
ttrq*iteizup:ply. Then just writ- up a quick report to the effect that the sediment and chemical loads in tle
soils, arowifirin established State guidelines. Then a quick report, this leach field was designed to serve so
t,mpl. per day, using so many gallons of water per day. But because the leach field is being used on
eiemporary basis for so nrany months averaging so nvmy people. if as engineers you feel thrs is adequate.
that,should satis$ this requirement.
Please feel free to contact this office if you have firther questions.

Dear Mr. Bean,
I have recently learned that my brother, Cade Benson, has a big problem. It seems he
has submitted a permit application to you for a building for his guide service at
Sweetwater Lake.
He was a bit shocked at the time required for the process. I am not. My husband was
building inspector in the West end of Garfield county during the Exxon years. He died in
1982, shortly after the bust. I think our current boom will not ever go away, and I am sure
you are stretched to the limits.
Please read the enclosed brochure and check the hi-lighted web page. It tells a bit about
who we are. Time is so important in the high country, and I would like to help if I can in
any way to expedite the process.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
My Telepho ne: 97 0 -285 -7 544
