PifCo installed the system. The existing 1000-gallon, two-compartment concrete septic tank remains in use. There is an effluent filter in the second compartment of the septic tank. This filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. The existing soil treatment area (STA) was abandoned in place. The new STA is located farther from the pond and creek than the existing STA. Table 7-1 of Garfield County On-Site Wastewater Treatment System Regulations notes, “For repair or upgrading of existing OWTS where the size of the lot precludes adherence to these distances, a repaired OWTS shall not be closer to setback features than the existing OWTS, as reviewed and approved by the local public health agency.” A new 4-inch diameter sewer pipe was installed at the existing clean-out on the existing sewer line (located west of the pond). A new distribution box was installed, accessible from grade, and a gravelless chamber bed with four rows of 14 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers for a total of 56 ‘Quick 4’ Infiltrator® chambers and 672 square feet of infiltrative area (using 12 square feet per chamber). Inspection ports were placed at each corner of the bed. Due to high groundwater conditions (observed at approximately 5-feet below grade, entering the test pit from the north or uphill side), chambers were placed on 6-inches of concrete sand at native grade level in order to maintain a 4-foot separation between the infiltrative area and high groundwater. The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OW TS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions.
