Miles Rippy Excavating, Inc. installed the system. The existing septic tank and soil treatment area (STA) were properly abandoned in-place. A new 1500- gallon, two-compartment concrete Valley Precast septic tank was installed with an Orenco® Biotube Pump Vault including an Orenco® PF3005 pump and effluent filter in the second compartment. This effluent filter must be cleaned annually, or as needed. The control panel for the pump is located within line of sight of the septic tank, mounted on the side of the residence. Groundwater was encountered at approximately 3-feet below grade. For purposes of the OWTS design, high seasonal groundwater was estimated at 2-feet below grade. Eighteen-inches of native topsoil was removed from the 19’ x 62’ basal area of the new soil treatment area (STA) and replaced with the approved fill material. Installation of the STA consisted of 2-feet of fill material, followed above by 10’ x 53’ of concrete sand, 2-feet deep. A 3:1 (horizontal:vertical) slope was maintained. Effluent is pressure dosed to the sand filter through 1.25-inch Schedule 40 pipe, with a minimum 1% grade for proper drain back into the septic tank. Two 1.25-inch laterals with 1/8-inch orifice holes facing down, 3-feet on center, are connected via a level manifold. Laterals are surrounded by washed coarse screened gravel. Each lateral ends in a 90 degree elbow facing up with a ball valve for flushing. Geotextile fabric was placed over the pipe and gravel, followed by a minimum of one foot of topsoil. Native vegetation will be planted over the mound to minimize erosion. Photographs documenting the installation, provided by the installer, have been enclosed. The OWTS was generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OW TS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions.
