HomeMy WebLinkAbout1.0 Applicationoo Board of County Commissioner Garfield County, Colorado Michael Dooley 0888 County Rd. 225 Rifle, Colo. 81650 RE: Narrative explanation for Petition for Exemption Dear Commissioners, I respectfully request an exemption for division of my existing 35 acre lot into two lots, one with the existing homesite of approximately 3 acres and a second of approximately 32 acres. My plan is to construct another home as my domicile on the 32 acre parcel. Both parcels would maintain the agricultural character of the surrounding area. The benefit for me would be to utilize the ground east of the existing home for an outstanding view and privacy for the new home. Also my family woutd gain an economic benefit in the increased value of the land due to the value of two homes on the current property. ln my opinion there would be minimal impact from the construction of the new home in order to preserve any wildlife habitats as well as grazing pastures for livestock. Sincerely, ..\.'h -J,-r^(/ Michael Dooley ,l ?rti company Coantv'e fnc.of Gartleld 127 Dast fith Street - p. O. Beginning on fulay 17, i 998 we supervised a four hour pump test on the existing well serving your property at 888 Antlers Lane. The results of the drawdown and recovery data for the test are recorded in your May 23, 1998 letter to me (copy attached). The pumping rate of 5 gpm was sustained for a period of four hours and the drawdown reached a level of 49'7" at 2.5 hours. A slight recovery occurred and the final drawdown was 48'5". The well is reported to be 2OO'deep which means that there was a large drawdown potential remaining at the end of four hours of pumping. A total of 1 ,2OO gallons of water was diverted from the well during the test. The in-house water demand for two single family homes is 700 gallons per day. Therefore, in a four hour period the well produced 1.7 times the average daily demand for two homes. The well recovered about 68% of the total drawdown in 14.5 hours of non-use immediately following the pumping at which time the well was put back into service for the existing home. Recovery continued but at a slower rate over the next several days. The continued recovery is evidence that the well is capable of producing more than the existing demand. It is our opinion that this well can meet the ordinary house hold demand of 700 gpd for two single family homes. However, outside uses including irrigation of lawn and garden must be very limited if allowed at ail. lf you have any questions, please call. Sincerely, RESOURCE NEERING, INC. aul S . Bussone,P.E.
