This parcel already has one well permit (see enclosed). The applicant proposes to use a cistern for the southerly parcel as the water supply. If the Commissioners wish for the applicant to apply for an additional well permit, do you feel it is feasible that they could obtain one for the proposed southerly parcel? If you have any questions regarding this application, please do not hesitate to call. CMH/1w Enc. 2014 BLAKE AVENUE. Sincerely, Cynthia M. Houben Planner GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLORADO 81601 GARFIELD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF DEVELOPMENT PLANNING: 945-8212 / ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH: 945-2339 / BUILDING: 945-8241 TO: Cindy Houben, Planner FROM: Ed Feld, Environmental Health Officer DATE: July 18, 1983 SUBJECT: Letter of Feasibility for Sewage Disposal - Gilbert and Linda Frontella Petition for Exemption Based on the information received by this office and past experience with sewage disposal facilities in the immediate area of the proposed exemption, this office has determined and believes on-site sewage dis- posal facilities to be both feasible and practical, commensurate with both County and State regulations, provided proper permits are obtained prior to construction. It should be further noted that due to the known conditions, only the following types of on-site sewage disposal systems would be acceptable, provided unforseen problems are not encountered: XX Approved septic tank and subsurface absorption area Approved septic tank and sealed dispersal system Approved septic tank and unsealed dispersal system System designed by a Colorado Registered Professional Engineer Other as specified: 2014 BLAKE AVENUE GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLORADO 81601 /83 ri.QAe, k s N40 ,06.) RICHARD D. LAMM Governor OFFICE OF THE STATE ENGINEER DIVISION OF WATER RESOURCES 1313 Sherman Street -Room 818 Denver, Colorado 80203 (303) 866-3581 Ms. Cynthia M. Houben Garfield County Planning Department 2014 Blake Avenue Glenwood Springs, CO 81601 Dear Ms. Houben: July 29, 1983 JERIS A. DANIELSON State Engineer Re: Frontella Exemption We have received the above referenced proposal for an exemption. The applicant proposes to split approximately 14 acres into two lots. There is an existing residence served by a cistern. The applicants propose a new lot which would be served by well permit number 130530 which was recently issued as the only well on a residential site of 14.26 acres. This condition on the well permit prohibits the issuance of any additional wells in a tributary aquifer without an augmentation plan. This office discourages the use of cisterns except under unusual circum- stances. Since this is an existing house and cistern, we would not object provided any future owners be made aware that a well permit would not be available. We would recommend a plat note and covenant to this effect. Sincerely, /h. 4". Hal D. Simpson, P.E. Assistant State Engineer HDS/KCK:ma cc: Lee Enewold, Div. Eng. Ralph Stallman
