In review of our building permit application files, we found your application which was filed at
least 180 days ago. As per the 2009 International Residential Code, Section R105.3.2: An
application for a permit for any proposed work shall be deemed to have been abandoned 180
days after the date of filing unless such application has been pursued in good faith or a permit
has been issued....
Please be advised, building permits are deemed active for 180 days from date of issuance, and
will remain active for 180 days from the date of an inspection. If no activity occurs within the
180 days, the permit will be deemed expired. As per the 2009 International Residential Code,
Section R105.5, the building official may grant one or more extensions of time, for no more than
180 days each. The extension shall be requested in writing and justifiable cause demonstrated.
In hopes of issuing your permit, please contact us within ten (10) business days of the date of this
letter regarding your application. If we do not hear from you, we will deem your application
abandoned and dispose of your file and plans.
Thank you for your timely response in this matter.
Regards,
David Bartholomew, Plans Examiner
