Our specifications called for '/2" gypboard oriented vertically such that no horizontal joints are present and blocking is not required. Fasten gypboard using 1-1/4" #6 wallboard screws (Type S or W) spaced at 7" on -center max at all field studs and along all edges. At all vertical joints the screws shall be staggered such that there is a screw into the stud every 3 '/2" alternating between the two sheets. Our office reviewed this drywall installation on November 24, 2009 and found it to be in compliance with these specifications. The drywall as installed will adequately support the design loads. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with any questions or concerns. Sincerely, ieith A.
