Per your request I am responding to your list of field questions.
Item 1: The typical wood column should be a minimum of (2) 2X6's. This is usually
constructed as (1) trimmer & (1) king stud.
Item 2: The (3) 9'/2 ML beam over the Master Closet was notched to bear under the wall top
plates. The wall was packed solid each side of the beam and a Simpson HHUS5.50/10
installed.
Item 3: The stud column shown at the inside corner of the garage back wall was deleted
during the design. Therefore, it was not needed and may be considered non-structural.
