Fabrication and installation of reinforcing steel shall conform to AGI 3 15. 5. Provide accessories necessary to properly support reinforcing at positions shown on plans. G. Place 2-#5's with 2'-0" projections each side of all wall openings. TIMBER AND WOOD PRODUCTS I . All timber construction (light 4 heavy) shall conform to American Institute of Timber Construction (AITC) 2. Structural framing lumber shall be Douglas Fir/Larch, with the following grades: Plates, Studs, Joists and Rafters: #2 Beams, Posts and Timbers: # I a 3. Manufactured Wood I -Joists to be 'TJI" by Trus -Joist Mcmillan, or "BCI" by Boise Cascade, installed in accordance with manufacturer's G. Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) shall be 1-3/4" thick and shall have the following minimum working stresses: Fb=2,400 P51, Fv=285 PSI, E=1,800,000 P51. 7. Parallel Strand Lumber (PSL) as manufactured by Trus -Joist shall be 5-1/4" thick and shall have the following working stresses: Fb=2,900 P51, Fv=290 PSI, E=2,000,000 P51. FASTENERS AND CONNECTORS I . All timber nailing and connections shall conform to the IBC. Reference IBC Fastening Table 2304.9.1 . All nails shown are common wire nails. 2. Bolts for wood member connections and concrete anchor bolts shall be ASTM A307 w/ minimum I-1/2" washer each end. 3. All metal connectors for wood framing (e.g. Joist hangers, Hold-down Anchors, Framing Angles, etc) shall be as manufactured by Simpson Strong -Tie Company. Install all connectors according to manufacturer's recommendations. Contractor may install connectors with nails shorter than common as follows: 8d x I -1/4" for 8d, I Od x 1 -1 /2" for 10d, I Gd x 2-1 /2" for I Gd. 4. Powder -actuated fasteners for attachment of various materials to structural steel or concrete shall be "Ramset" fasteners as manufactured by Ramset Fastening Systems. 5. Drilled -in anchor bolts in concrete and masonry shall be adhesive resin anchors type HY-150 as manufactured by Hilt( Corp or anchors type "Acrylic Tie" as manufactured by Simpson unless noted otherwide.
