P ETITION F OR EXEMP TION
Pursuant to C.R.S. 1963, 106-2-33 (3) (d), as amended, the
unde rs igned, J any A . Jewel l, respe ctfully p e titions the Board of
County Conuniss i on ers of Garfield County , Color ad o, to exempt
by resolution a parcel of land being imp ro ve d by her son and
own ed by sa id pe titioner , and in connection there ~ . .vi th would
show s aid Co ITu.ll iss ioners as follows :
1. That petitioner i s the owner of certain ranch prop e rty
generally loca ted northeaste rly of Rifle, Colorado, containin g
approxima tely 500 acre s , and the p ar cel for which exemption is
sought is a pa r t of said ranch, contains 4.93 acres, more or less,
and an easement , and is more specifically described on the plat
thereof attach ed hereto a nd by reference made a part hereof;
2. That the aforesaid 4.93 acre parcel will b e served
by access from the County Road, over and across said easement,
obt a in water .through a cistern system and a house is being constructed
thereon which will be serviced by a septic tank and leach field;
3. That the p et i t ioner desi res to convey said property
to her son and his wife, L. Warren Jewell and Gloria D . Jewell,
as joint tenants, for a residential homesite in conne ction with
the ranch op e rations being conducte d on said ranch by him, and
conveyance of the prope rty may include t wo shares of stock in
the Farmers Irrig a tion Company to provide wa t e r to said property;
4. That y our petitioner has no plans to develop or subdivide
said ranch and desires to convey said property as afore sa id,
but is unable to do so without first obtaining the exerept ion.
