As requested, structural steel special inspection was conducted per the IBC 2009 Edition - Chapter
17: Structural Tests and Special Inspection and Garfield County requirements. I arrived on site at 12.45PM.
I met with Mr. JelTNclson with McDaniel Technical Services, Inc. and Mr. Mike Garcia with TPI
Industrial Inc. to review areas for inspection.
Visual inspection was conducted at the Lower Roof Level on the 5 8". and'." ASTM A325 High
Strength rigid frame and rigid frame to column bolted connections. The steel erector for the project is ]PI
Industrial Inc. Project bolt tension requirements indicate "tum of the nut" as referenced in the approved
jobsite drawings' General Notes - Sheet A -I provided by B & C Steel from Scottsbluff. Nebraska dated
9 9.2013 As a minimum, 10% of all connections, but not less than two bolts per connection were
inspected for proper bolt tension requirements and match marking techniques as stated in IBC requirements
for Periodic Inspection. Balt assemblies at grid lines I 3 & A D were observed to be in place, correctly
installed, laying surfaces matched, and correctly marked to indicate "turn of the nut" condition. All ASTM
A325 High Strength bolts inspected were found to be adequately tensioned and in compliance with project
specifications.
