RE: Underpinnin (Piering) Pro*ect at Garage — Final Report
81 White Peaks Lane
Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
The underpinning (piering ) project at subject garage has been successfully completed utilizing ten push
piers. There is no need to prepare a layout showing the final location of the piers since the piers were
installed within a few inches of the original plan, except pier #6 was relocated around the corner at the
center of the north side wall. The four enclosed drawings show the amount of lift that was attained and
the final ceiling elevations. The post -lift elevations can be used as benchmarks for future reference.
The lift was terminated when the hydraulic pressure indicated the piers were approaching their maximum
allowable capacity.
It is uncertain just how much void was created under the garage slab as a result of the lift, but elevations
Laken at a few points give an indication of the amount of slab lift. The indicated slab lift is shown in the
appropriate attached drawing. The slab lift does not necessarily mean that the void matches the amount
of lift. The gapped north/south control joint closed about 3/16" maximum.

The push piers were installed in a proper manner in accordance with the manufacturer's
recommendations, and the lift was accomplished in a proper manner by personnel from Foundation
Repair of Western Colorado. The perimeter garage walls have been stabilized.
