As requested, structural steel special inspection was conducted per the IBC 2012
Edition -Chapter 17: Structural Tests and Special Inspection and Garfield County requirements. 1
arrived on site at 9:00 AM. I contacted Mr. Matt Jones with TPI Industrial Inc. in Grand
Junction, Colorado to review project requirements and job specifications. The steel erector for
the project is TPI Industrial Inc.
Visual inspection was conducted at the Roof Framing Plan level on the'/." and 7/8"
ASTM A325 High Strength structural bolted beam to beam and beam to column connections at
grid lines A - B & 1 - 3 as referenced on the approved engineering drawings provided by 13 & C
Steel in Scottsbluff, NE: Job #7066 dated 9-5-14. Project bolt tension requirements indicate
"turn of the nut" method as referenced in the approved engineering drawings: General Notes. As
a minimum, 10% of all bolts, but not less than 2 bolts per connection were inspected for periodic
inspection requirements along with required match marking techniques. All ASTM A325 High
Strength structural bolts inspected were observed to be adequately tensioned to project bolt
tension requirements.
