Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new inforination may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling Construction under the Uniform Building Code". This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project. Your attomey makes some good, well -reasoned points, some of which we agree with. We do not agree with all of the points raised and do not believe it is a wise expenditure of your fellow homeowners money to continue fighting this through attomeys or the courthouse. We reluctantly drop our efforts to convince you to comply with our goal of stopping the creation of new gravel driveways in the development. Those who choose to live in a community governed by covenants and volunteer committees of fellow residents must recognize that doing so requires cooperation and a willingness to work within the community guidelines for a better lifestyle for all. With regard to your request to place a shed roof over your concrete pad, we have received your latest submittal, and can see that the roofed structure fits within the building envelope. We are concerned, however, that the newly roofed structure might become a carport, something that will not be approved. The existence of a gravel driveway and a vehicle -sized gate leading to this area adds to the concern. To comply with the intent of the covenants and the architectural style and quality of the neighborhood, we request you replace the gate with a fence and a standard side yard gate. Items such as boats and vehicles must be parked in an enclosed area or registered at the RV lot. We look forward to hearing from you in writing on these requests so that we can process your application.
