Dear Andy,
This engineer performed an inspection of the On -Site Wastewater Treatment (OSWT) system at
the location identified above on July 27, 2015.
Concerns regarding odor had been raised by the current building tenant. The property owner
(CC'd below) authorized an excavation of the permitted distribution box and beginning of one of the
infiltrator legs. An infiltrator inspection port was opened and wastewater was observed within the chamber.
Wastewater was introduced via an existing toilet/sink and the system performed as designed. The
distribution box was slightly sloped toward the infiltrator legs but still performed adequately. The installed
septic tank inlet cover was removed and the required inlet tee was missing. This condition is probably the
odor source. A system contractor (Rippy) installed a new tee on the septic tank inlet and the excavation
was filled.
It is the opinion of this engineer that the permitted OSWT system is functional and the probable
odor source has been identified and corrected. A partial photo record is on file in this office. Please call us
