Mr. Ron Richards
Carbondale Fire Chief
Carbondale City Hall
2nd and Garfield
Carbondale, Colorado 81603
Dear Mr. Richards:
Enclosed are the present Coopertmn Townsite Plat and the proposed
amendment to that plat. The proposed amendments vacate a portion of
the streets as they are now platted in the area. The reason for this
vacation is the fact that many lot owners in the area have constructed
buildings, fences and other structures over the years in the platted
streets and alleys.
The attempt in the proposed amendments is to relieve the residents
in the area of these conflicts while still al&owing for reasonable
ingress and egress. I would very much appreciate your comments on the
proposed rights-of-way as they affect access for fire protection.
The only area where I would suggest a change myself, is in the
15 foot wide continuation of Cedar Street to the South. Rather than
end that 15 foot wide alley before the property line of the Rocky
Mountain School, I would suggest putting it all the way through, so
that if the CRMS property ever develops, that 15 foot section would
be a through access and would provide two points of access instead of
one.
This plat will be scheduled for the September meeting of the
Planning Commission. I would appreciate your comments prior to that
meeting. Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
PLANNING DEPARTMENT
