DOC t 1 4 GARFIELD COUNTY BUILDING AND PLANNING 970-945-8212 MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF COMMERCIAL OR MULTI -FAMILY RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS including NEW CONSTRUCTION ADDITIONS ALTERATIONS and MOVED BUILDINGS In order to understand the scope of the work intended under a permit application and expedite the issuance of a permit it is important that complete information be provided. P. 02/02 You informed us that a one-story, steel -frame, electrical building will be constructed at the site. The building will have plan dimensions of 30 feet by 16 feet and a maximum height of about 12 feet. At this writing the building foundation is planned as a 2 -foot wide, 2 -foot deep, continuous perimeter footing. The floor slab will be monopoured with the footing. We understand maximum building foundation loads will be Tess than 3,000 psf. In our opinion, the electrical building should be supported on a mat of densely compacted, structural fill at least 2 feet thick. The bottom of the sub -excavated area, prior to structural fill mat placement, should be at feast 2 feet below the bottom of footings. The structural fill should extend laterally at least 1 foot beyond the building footprint. Recommendations for s ♦r tural fill presented in our geotechnical investigation report (Job No. GS-; '4--, •: ted June 2, 2003) should be followed.
