Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling Construction under the Uniform Building Code". This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project. The district has conditionally approved the proposal. With the construction of the pond and hydrant system, a residence of Type -V construction, with a fire area of 6,200 square feet or less, may be constructed on the property without an automatic fire sprinkler system. This is consistent with the Uniform Fire Code, 1997 edition, adopted by the Carbondale & Rural Fire Protection District. The EIKLOR FLAMES 'Ultimate' Gas -og System is superior and consist of a five bumer configuration. Most gas log sets use only one turner. That's why you see me flames only on top of the logs. The EIKLOR FLAMES Gas Log System, on the other hand, is somewhat more expensive to fabricate and a lot more sophisticated since it consists of 5 turners. The realism that this system provides easily justifies the added expense. Your guests wont know, unless you tell them, that the nice toasty fire the/re enjoying is minus the mess. r.,„pprova,s, Page 1 of 2 Imagine this realistic looking fireplace in your home. twaiei FUEL EFFICIENCYBari to roc The fuel efficiency on the EIKLOR FLAMES Gas Log System is a very important factor. The 5 burner configuration along with special High Heat refractory Jogs combine to give you the 'toasty wami fire'. Although your guests probably won't be interested, the togs ere made of a refractory ceramic that is rated at over 3000 degrees. That is the secret of thel'nice toasty' fire. The ceramic logs are heated by the 5 burners and the heat is then radiated Into the room for you and your guests to enjoy. It is estimated that the EIKLOR FLAMES Gs Log System is easily twice as fuel efficient. Your fireplace dealer is the place for you to make that judgmant for yourself. Just put your hand in front of the 'burning displays'. You will immediate& feel the difference between the EJKLOR FLAMES Gas Log System and ordinary gas log sets. LONGEVITY Bade to,tvp It has been the experience of the gas tog inusiry that the bumer systems are the weakest link in the chain when it comes to gas log sets. That Is prec ely why, at EIKLOR FLAMES, we fabricate our burner systems of stainless steel components. While more i itficult to work with and mom expensive, they don't RUST. RUST -iron oxide plus by-products of the haat all combine to deteriorate the baffle systems. Using stainless steel practically eliminates this condition. Periodic maintenance of the burners in your fireplace makes good sense—but you dont have to worry about hiving to replace the burners, as with some of the cheaper sets. .As mentioned, the logs are made from a very high temperature refractory ceramic. This material can exist very happy at 3000 degrees fahrenheit us, use of this material guarantees that the logs will not deteriorate with time and temperature. The design of the grates that hold the logs is the last item to consider. You will remember that the EIKLOR FLAMES Gas Log System uses a 5 bump configuration. Much of the flame is on the bottom of the logs and heats them as it travels upward. This meags that the grates as well es the logs must be able to withstand prolonged high temperahres without date rating_ We use a special high carbon steel for the grates in the EIKLOR FLAMES Gas Log System. But does the thought of hauling firewood and cleaning up soot and ashes dampen your enthusiasm for a mai fire? The answer is an Bklor Flames 'Ultimate' Gas Log System. The Eikfor Gas Log System is the best, most realistic gas log we have seen. Other gas logs use only one burner. The Eiklor gas logs use 5 burners, providing a more realistic flame. Realistic ceramic log sets also contribute to the realism. Eildor's five -burner system combined with their special high -heat refractory logs make their gas fog systems more fuel- efficient. This is also their secret for a nice "toasty" fire that radiates warming heat info the room. Just place your hand in front ofa burning Odor gas log and you will feel the difference between an Eildor system and an ordinary gas log. Eiklor gas logs are user friendly. They can be lit with the flick of the switch. A thermostat can be used to control the gas log and maintain a constant room temperature. Or, a TV -type remote control can be used to light your gas log. And, most importantly, there is no messy cleanup. The quality of materials and construction of Eiklor gas logs assure many years of trouble-free service. The weakest component of regular gas log sets is the burner. They eventually rust and the holes in the bumer become Sogged. For this reason, Efklor manufactures its burners from stainless steel, virtually eliminating this problem. Sopris Engineering has performed site visits to measure, inspect, and document the as built conditions of the constructed system. We have coordinated our efforts with the treatment system installer, and the contractors that constructed the system. The as -built field dimensions and location o the new ISTS treatment components were ins • wt respect to existing site conditions and are marked in the field by the component risers and inspection ports installed to the finish surface grades. The System was installed in accordance with Garfield County Regulations; the design parameters presented in the Sopris Engineering report and the design drawing, dated May J, 2002. A J500 -gallon dual compartment septic tank was installed with an Orenco Systems, Inc. Advantex AX -20 treatment system installed with the septic tank. The Advantex re -circulating packed bed filter assembly was installed by a qualified installer. The system has a dosing pump basin installed adjacent to the septic tank to pressure dose effluent through a distribution manifold to the field. The systems control box has a remote telemetry unit that can be activated by connection to a phone line. A two-year inspection and maintenance agreement is in place, which calls for service and inspections every 6 months. The Dispersal field was constructed with as a bed containing 4 rows of 9 chambers each 57' in length as generally delineated on the site plan. Flow is split equally between the chamber rows through the pressure manifold to the individual distribution lateral running the full length of the chamber rows. Inspection ports were installed on each end chamber and on the head comer chambers. The overall dimension of the dispersal field is 57' by 14' mounded approximately 36" above the surface. The field was installed level with suitable soil below the chamber and backfill over and around the chambers. A 24 -inch layer of filter sand was placed below the leaching chambers. Treated effluent from the septic tank/Advantex treatment system is pressure dosed to the field. Each chamber row has a 4" inch perforated PVC distribution pipe running the length of the row. The construction was completed utilizing specified materials installed according to design. The minimum setback distances have been maintained. 502 Main Street • Suite A3 • Carbondale, CO 81623 • (970) 704-0311 • fax (970) 704-0313 SOPRIS ENGINEERING • LLC civil consultants 04/13/2005 14:35 970-704-0313 Advantex AX -20 SOPRIS ENGINEERING PACE 03 Timothy Stainton SE Job No. 22049.01 April 8, 2005 Page 2 The advanced treatment system installed is an Orenco Systems Advantex-AX-20 unit (re -circulating trickling packed bed filter).
