approve your request for a 1-year extension to file your final plat for the Exemption from the
Definition of Subdivision. Your new deadline for this approval is September 2,2004.

I. BACKGROUND
As you are aware, the Board approved an Exemption from the Definition of Subdivision for Dave
Maves on September 2,2003. The approval required the Applicant satisfu all the conditions of
approval and present a plat to the Board for signature within 120 days of the approval which will
expire on January 2,2004.
II. REOUEST
The Applicant requests the Board grant a 90-day extension from the date of originally required
deadline in order to complete the conditions of approval for the Exemption. (Please see letter
attached as Exhibit A). This extension, if approved, would expire on April 2,2004.
III. BOCC AUTHORITY
As a matter of past policy, it has been the practice of the Board to grant l-year extensions for
Applicants who have received an approval for an Exemptionto complete conditions ofapproval. It
should also be noted, this request is being made 30 days in advance of the original deadline which
is also consistent with other regulatory provisions in the county's land use regulations.
IV. STAFFRECOMMENDATION
Based on the above, Staffrecommends the Board grant an extension for l-year fromthe date ofthe
original approval to September 2, 2004 for the Maves Exemption from the Definition of
Subdivision.
