Neuman Construction Company 310 191h Street Glenwood Springs, CO 81801 Mahaffey Garage OH Job No: 15-6568 Date: August 17, 2015 General Comments As scheduled, a representative arrived on-site to perform the below discussed services and we have the following comments. "'OPEN HOLE"' The exposed materials at the base of the excavation for the garage west of the existing residence were observed. At an elevation of approximately 96'-2", the exposed materials were comprised of silty clays with sand that were generally consistent with the anticipated conditions es outlined in the project geotechnical report prepared by Yeh and Associates, Inc. dated April 28, 2005, which indicates a maximum allowable soil bearing pressure 011500 psi The geotechnical report referenced was prepared for the out -building on the east side of the existing residence At the lime of our visit, the sods generally appeared dry to moist, stiff and yielded pocket penetrometer readings over 1,500 psi. We observed the sods had been prepared per project documents, Based on our observations of the soil types and conditions of the exposed materials in the completed foundation excavation at the above location, the bearing soils appear to be general y consistent with those described In the soils report and are estimated to be capable of providing an allowable bearing capacity of approximately 1.500 psf. The verification of bearing elevations and excavation depths were excluded from the scope of services Gary Mahaffey and Jarrid Hartland with D.M. Neuman Construction Company were notified of today's observations. Field Representative: Shane Sorensen Englewood, Commerce City, Loveland, Granby, Gypsum, Grand Junction, Casper
