HomeMy WebLinkAboutFinal Septic Report 12.29.2015ALL SEAVICI 33 Four Wheel Drive Rd Carbondale, CO 81623 970-309-5259 December 29, 2015 Mandy and Travis Tiffany Pfs625@gmail.com Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Installation Observations 3643 CR 233 Garfield County, Colorado Permit Number 3680 Travis and Mandy, Project No. C1183 ALL SERVICE septic, LLC observed the installation of the components outlined in our letter dated November 1, 2015, Recommendations for Existing Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS), on November 20, 2015. The excavation work was completed by Mountain West Contracting. Electrical work on the pump and control panel was completed by Walker Electric. Verification of pump and alarm operation was completed on December 29, 2015 by Ray's Well Done Pump Service, LLC. Completion of items verified on November 20, 2015: Effluent filter installed in the outlet tee of the 1500 -gallon septic tank. Check valve in the pump line removed. An 1/8 -inch diameter weep hole drilled in the pump line to allow for proper drain back into the tank after each dose. The sewer line encased 10 -feet on each side of crossing of water line. Verified water line does not come within 10 -feet of septic tanks. Distribution box installed at the high point of the pump line with minimum 1°/0 grade for proper drain back. The distribution box is accessible from grade. Speed Levelers were installed on each 4 -inch diameter pipe exiting the distribution box. 4 -inch diameter SDR -35 pipes connect the distribution box to each trench. Existing 1.5 -inch diameter pipe hanging from the underside of the chambers were not connected, but remain inside the chambers. Inspection ports installed at the beginning and end of each trench. It was verified that the water line did not come within 25 -feet of the soil treatment area (STA). Completion of items verified on December 23, 2015: Floats on the Goulds pump to discharge approximately 90 gallons per dose (on and off floats set 5 inches apart). A CentriPro Model S10020 control panel installed within line of sight of the septic tank. Completion of items verified on December 29, 2015: Pump tested and functional. Alarm tested and functional. The OWTS components listed in the recommendation letter were generally installed according to specifications. This observation is not a guarantee of workmanship and/or parts and materials. ALL SERVICE septic, LLC should be notified if changes are made to the OWTS in the future. Any additional OWTS construction must be according to the county regulations. LIMITS: Observations are limited to components that are visible at the time of the inspection. The installer must have documented and demonstrated knowledge of the requirements and regulations of the county in which they are working. The quality of the installation is dependent of the expertise of the installer, soil type, and weather conditions. Please call with questions. This permit is valid only for connection to structures which have fully complied with County zoning and building requirements. Connection to or use with any dwelling or structures not approved by the Building and Zoning offi;e shall automatically be a violation or a requirement of the permit and cause for both legal action and revocation of the permit. 3. Any person who constructs, alters, or installs an individual sewage disposal system in a manner which involves a knowing and material variation from the terms or specifications contained in the application of permit commits a Class 1, Petty Offense ($500.00 fine - 6 months in jail or both). Think at th Don't: • Pour cooking grease or oil down the sink or toilet. • Rinse coffee grounds into the sink. • Pour household chemicals down the sink or flush them. Do: • Eliminate or limit the use of a garbage disposal. • Properly dispose of coffee grounds a food. • Put grease in a container to harden before discarding in the trash. Don't: • Flush non -degradable products or chemicals, such as feminine hygiene products, condoms, dental floss, diapers, cigarette butts, cat litter, paper towels, pharmaceuticals. Do: • Dispose of these items in the trash can! Don't: • Park or drive on your drainfield. The weight can damage the drain lines. • Plant trees or shrubs too close to your drainfield, roots can grow into your system and clog it. Do: • Consult a septic service professional to advise you of the proper distance for planting trees and shrubs, depending on your septic tank location. L Don't • Concentrate your water use by using your dishwasher, shower, washing machine, and toilet at the same time. All that extra water can really strain your septic system. Do: • Stagger the use of water -generating appliances. This can be helpful especially if your system has not been pumped in a long time. • Become more water efficient by fixing plumbing leaks and consider installing bathroom and kitchen faucet aerators and water -efficient products.
