The following items are required by Garfield County for a final inspection:
I. A final Electrical Inspection from the Colorado State Electrical Inspector;
2. Permanent address assigned by Garfield County Building Department posted where readily
visible from access road;
3. A finished roof, a lockable house, complete exterior siding, exterior doors and windows
installed, a complete kitchen with cabinets, a sink with hot & cold running water, non-absorbent
kitchen floor coverings, counter tops and finished walls, ready for stove and refrigerator, all
necessary plumbing;
4. A complete bathroom, with washbowl, tub or shower, toilet stool, hot and cold running water,
non-absorbent floors and walls finished and a privacy door;
5. All steps outside or inside over three (3) steps must have handrails, guard rails on balconies or
decks over 30" high constructed to all 1997 UBC requirements;
6. Outside grading done to where water will detour away from the building;
7. Exceptions to the outside steps, decks and grading may be made upon the demonstration of
extenuating circumstances, i.e. weather, but a Certificate of Occupancy will not be issued until
all the required items are completed and a final inspection made.
A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL ALL THE ABOVE
ITEMS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.
****CANNOT OCCUPY OR USE DWELLING UNTIL A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
(C.O.) IS ISSUED. OCCUPANCY OR USE OF DWELLING WITHOUT A C.O. WILL BE
CONSIDERED AN ILLEGAL OCCUPANCY AND MAY BE GROUNDS FOR VACATING

Andy,
I spoke with Jody Shoberline (Sp?) who is doing some of the
architectural drawings for this project. I asked him f this project
included any internal changes that would affect the exiting or the use of
the building. He indicated that he did not think that there would be any
changes and that the project is to provide for structural changes and
insulation for the roof system.
I requested that he inform CRMS that this permit is for the changes
indicated for the roof system and any interior changes not indicated on
these plans might require a change order to this permit or another
permit.

FILE NOTES CRMS BUILDING PERMIT #8387
Original structural drawings were greatly modified once the extent of the work was
determined during construction. Yampah Builders contacted the County regarding the
existing conditions and it was determined that the Engineer of Record would inspect the
existing conditions design and approve the construction as construction took place. See
letter dated 10.24.02 from Robert Pattillo. As built stamped structural drawings were
submitted to the County dated 10.23.02. The County did several inspections during the
course of construction and did a final inspection relating to the non structural aspects.

Re: Colorado Rocky Mountain School Barn Renovation
Dear Gentlemen:
We herewith transmit revised structural construction plans for the CRMS Barn
Renovation project for your records and review.
These plans are substantially different from those submitted with the Building Permit
application. It was discovered during removal of finishes and subsequent analysis
that severe overstresses had occurred around the lower perimeter support beam. By
changing our design approach from support of the upper roof by use of the interior
sloped columns to improving the support conditions around the lower perimeter by
use of a new steel tension ring and sheathed bearing walls, we were able to repair the
roof structure more effectively. These modified plans also show reframing of the
flatter -pitched shed roofs around the main hip roof penmetcr.
Personnel of Pattillo Associates Engineers, Inc. have observed the construction effort
during the course of the repairs. We are satisfied that the intent of the structural
plans has been achieved by Yampah Builders, and that the plans are a generally
accurate representation of the structural work that was accomplished.
