The purpose of this inspection was to observe the roof framing, and determine the structural adequacy of same. I believe that the site elevation of the residence is approximately 6500'. Consequently, I checked the adequacy of the roof framing system for a 40 PSF snow load. The roof system is constructed in accordance with documents provided by Amerlink. The center portion of the roof relies upon the roof diaphragm to resist imposed loads. I recommended that the center portion of the roof be strengthened by sheathing with structural sheathing the two interior walls which bound the north and south sides of the center portion of the roof (See attached roof framing plan). I also recommended that the central valley beam - to - ridge beam connection be improved (See attached plan view detail). Given these improvements, it is my professional opinion that the subject roof can safely support the required design snow load. If you have any questions, please call.
