Dear Ms. Gonzalez,
A representative of Huddleston -Derry Engineering and Testing, LLC (HBET) observed the open hole and
tested the soil compaction for the foundation on June 27, 2014, and July 15, 17, and 2111, 2014.
Periodic testing for the subject project is complete and any exceptions have been corrected. The open
hole inspection indicated that the subsurface soil conditions on the lot are consistent with the referenced
report. Therefore, based upon the recommendations in the referenced reports, results of the open hole
inspection, and results of the field density testing, the subgrade is adequate for foundations constnicted in
accordance with the Garfield County Mininuan House Foundation Standards using an allowable bearing
capacity of 1500 psf.
Please find enclosed the soil compaction test results are included as IRW, 1S, 2S, and 3S.

I observed the partial excavation for the west house footing The material at the bottom of the excavation is sand stone. The sandstone
observed is very soft and friable HBET recommends removing the soft sandstone to a depth suffiecient to place the
full depth of the structural fill indicated in the Geotechnical report
