Refer to General Notes, SKPE sheet S2 dated 8-14·08. The foWldation design and documents were based on assumed soil values, to be verified by a soils engineer. I have since reviewed a soils rcpot't prepared by CI'L Thompson Inc, #GS04575~120. Refer to Foundation Plan, SKPE sheet Sl dated 8-l<kl8. A new concrete pier and pad is indicated at the north-west colwnn. Mr Meckley has reported hls intent to excavate approximately 42" for placement of this pad. The indicated soils report verifies natural granular soils of acceptable bearing properties at this elevation. It is my understanding that the Builder has elected to place a pier and pad at all four column locations along the outer edge of porch, in order to assure bearing on these natural gravels. With this soils report and the Builders intent on reaching these natural granular solls, the requirement for a soils engineer's input per by our General Notes is considered as satisfied.
