Dear Shawn,
SUbject: Biggs Garage n New Castle, Colorado
It has come to my attention that the monolithic slab faundaUon delailed In the construction drawings
(Dated October 21, 2015) that I prepared for lhe Biggs Garage In New castle, Colorado, ls lmpracllcal
due to sloping letraln at the project site. In fight of this Information, I recommend that a fooling & stem
wall foundation be used.
Use an 18-lnch wide by 10..fnch deep footing reinforced with two #4 continuous rebar. Use an 8-lnch
thick stemwall reinforced with vertical #4 reba' spaced 32• on center and three #4 horizcntal rebar
placed at the top, bottom, and mid-height of the stem wa!. Place all foolilgs at least 36" below exteOOr
finished grade.
