Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling Construction under the Uniform Building Code". This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project. A routine review of our open building permits indicates that we have not received a request for an inspection on this permit since /2-1-7-0 / . Please be advised that building permits expire, per Uniform Building Code, section 106.4.4 and 106.4.5, 180 days after they are issued, if the work authorized by the permit has not commenced or is suspended or abandoned. The permit may be extended by written request to the building official, showing that circumstances beyond your control have caused a delay. Permits that have been expired for 180 days or less may be renewed for one half of the original permit fee. Permits that have been expired for longer than 180 days require payment of a new full permit fee. Substantial progress is being made on the house. He might even get it done next year. He is living in his camper again but since he has a valid permit it's ok. The road he is working on is an old jeep trail that switches back and forth up the hill above his house. One question for the building meeting is if he needs a grading permit for that. Bruce told me that he thought if we wanted him to cease and desist he would be happy to do it. I told him to have Paul go schmooze his neighbors. That is where I left it. (David.N. Anonymous neighbor complaint today. Construction is under way again. Does he have a permit? He's living in a camper again. He's excavating a road, knocking over neighbor fences and rolling bolders down on them. Maybe we need to pay him a visit. 11/24/2004 Page 1 of 1 Dave Mead From: Andy Schwager Sent: Friday, July 01, 2005 7:27 AM To: Dave Mead Subject: FW: William's Office Building at the Gas Plant Addition David, Please follow up on this and indude a copy of this letter in the file. The building looks fine. It has three exit doors, but only two exit signs. It may need a third, I'II leave that up to you. It also has a ground wire coming up out of the ground on each comer. The electrical has been signed off, so it appears that these may have been placed at the time of foundation pour. 1f they're not needed, Ws my recommendation that they be cut off below ground level so as not to be either a trip hazard or a 'red flag' that something was forgotten to be tied into the steel. They are hanging fire extinguishers at each of the exits as they move in. Looks good.... David A. Blair Fire Chief, GVFPD 7/1/2005 0 inspection at 970-384-5003.
