Robson Architecture & Planning February 11, 2000 Garfield County Building Official Garfield County Building Department 109 8th Street, Suite 303 Glenwood Springs, CO 81.601 re: 111 Hawthorne Way, Battlement Mesa, Colorado Dear Building Official: This letter is to confirm that I have conducted a site review of the existing foundation and framing at 111 Hawthorne Way, Battlement Mesa, Colorado. This is one of the homes damaged by fire in late June, 1999. I saw no evidence of any fire damage to the existing foundation and believe the foundation is of the same capacity as when it was first constructed. My conclusion is based on the fact that the existing siding is still fully intact on the "pony wall" above the foundation, all of the gravel landscaping is still intact around the outside of the foundation and the interior condition of the "garden level" basement shows no sign of fire, water or smoke damage. Please feel free to contact me if you should have any questions. Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling Construction under the Uniform Building Code". This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project.
