Dear Paula;
On August 31, 1999, at your request, we visited the home of the above mentioned address to
determine if any structural damage had been'done to the foundation by a fire. The concrete stem
walls and footing appeared to be in good condition, and there was no evidence that the fire was
hot enough to cause structural failure to the reinforcing steel.
Many of the anchor bolts appear to have been bent and stripped during the demolition of the
burned structure. New anchor bolts may have to be drilled and epoxied to the foundation.
Please note that floor framing should be put in place as soon as possible to brace the top of these
stem walls. In addition, vehicles should not be driven or parked near this foundation until these
walls are braced.
