These changes are being implemented to improve safety and operations in the Central Production Area storage area. SECTION 805 HOLDING TANKS 805.1 Approval. The installation of a holding tank shall not be approved where the site can accommodate the installation of any other private sewage disposal system specified in this code. A pumping and maintenance schedule for each holding tank in- stall ation s h all be submitted to the code official. 805.2 Sizing. The minimum liquid capacity of a holding tank for one-and two-family dwelling s shall be in accordance with Table 805 .2 . O ther buildi ngs sha ll have a m in imum 5 -day hold- ing capac ity, but no t less than 2,000 ga llons (7570 L ). Sizing shall be in accordance with Table 802.7 .2 . Not more than four holding tanks shall be installed in series. Holding tanks shall be constructed of weld ed steel, monolithic concrete, glass-fiber reinforced poly- ester or other approved materials. 805.4 Installation. Tanks s h all be located in accordance with Section 802.8, except the tanks shall be not less than 20 feet (6096 mm) from any part of a building. Holding tanks shall be located so the servicing manhole is located not less than 10 feet (3048 mm) from an all-weather access road or drive. 805.5 Warning device. A high -water wa rning device shall be install ed to activate 1 foot (305 mm) below the inlet pipe. This device sha ll be either an au dible or an approved illuminated 34 15 10 alarm. The electrical junction box, including warning equip- me nt junctions, s hall be located outside the holding tank or hous ed in wate rproof, explosionproof enclosures . E lectrical r e - lays or controls shall be located outside the holding tank. 805.6 Manholes. Each ta nk shall b e provided with eith er a manhole not less than 24 inches (610 mm) square or a manhole with a 24-inch (6 10 mm) inside diameter extending not les s than 4 inch es (102 mm) above ground . Finish grade shall be sloped away from the manhole to divert surface water from th e manhole. E ach manhole cover shall have an effective locking d evice. Service ports in manhole covers shall be not less than 8 inches (203 mm) in diameter and shall be 4 inches (102 mm) above fini s hed grade level. The service port shall h ave an effe c - tive locking cover or a brass cleano ut plug. 805.7 Se ptic tank. The outlet shall be sealed w here an ap- proved septic tank is ins talled to serve as a holding tank. Re- moval of th e inlet and outlet baffle shall not be prohibited. 805.8 Vent.
