Residence, Lot 269, Ironbridge Development, 25 Eagle Claw Circle,
Garfield County, Colonido
Gentlemen:
As requested, we are providing a summary of our observation and testing services
provided for the above referenced project. The reports of the services requested and
perfonned for the project are allached. We previously conducted n subsoiJ study for
design of foundations at the site :ind presented our findings in a report dated September
14, 2015, Job No. 113 471P.
The foundation bearing soils within the building excavation were observed and tested for
compaction on February 8 and 12, 2016 and are suitable for the recommended bearing
pressure of 1,500 psf. Perimeter grade beam reinforcement steel was observed on March
4, the post-tensioned slab tendons were observed on March 7 and the fresh concrete for
the foundation was sampled on March 8, 2016. Tensioning of the tendons was observed
on March 11, 2016 according to the project specifications. The results of the tendon
tensioning were submitted to Fuhrmann & On1f for their approval. We did not observe
placement of the rigid foam insulation along the building perimeter, but since the
perimeter grade beam has a minimum depth of 36 inches, it provides adequate frost
protection rather than by insulation .
Based upon inferences drawn from our observation and testing, as documented by the
attached daily field and laboratory reports, it is our professional opinion that the
referenced construction has achieved the specified conditions. Please recognize that
construction observation and testing are sampling functions that involve direct

Earthwork Contractor: Logan
Equipment Used: Ground heater, blankets
Description of Building pad existing grade had been cleared of deep snow and weeds, ground
Earthwork Tes ted : heater piping and blankets placed and heat applied to thaw the area. Four
moisture/density tests were performed to evaluate existing conditions. Tests
indicated compaction below recommendations with moisture contents ranging
from about 2% below to 3o/o above optimum. The sons were generally not frozen
but some surface ice was remaining in areas between the heat pipes and low
areas of the pad were muddy and soft under foot at the time of our site visit.
Sample(s) Obtained : Per discussion with Steve Pawlak in our office, no sample was obtained. Proctor
value referenced is from visually similar sandy silt material sampled from Lot 278.
Verbal Steve Pawlak in our office and Scott Henriksen with Silach were informed by
Communicat ion : phone of our test results and observations. The subgrade needs to be stripped at
least one foot and re-comeacted.
