Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling Construction under the Uniform Building Code". This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project. Garfield County Code Enforcement Alleged Violation Public Hearing Alleged Violator Information Mr. & Mrs. Jim & Sandra Irvine 7343 County Road 313 New Castle, Co 81647 AlIcged Violation and Investigation information Expiration of Building Permit # 7182, issued 5/27/99. An extension of time (180 days) was granted by the Garfield County Building Official on 5/10/2000, based on a written request from the Irvines. The last inspection done on the extended permit was on 8/24/20. A period of 180 days, during which no progress was made on the work authorized by the extended permit ended on 2/24/01. The permit may not be extended more than once per Uniform Building Code Section 106.4.4. The permit may be renewed, provided no plan changes have been made, by resubmittal to the Building Department and payment of one half of the original permit fee. Expiration of Temporary Permit 0476, authorizing a temporary dwelling to be used at the Irvine construction site. The permit was issued on 6/27/99. The permit has been renewed three times. The maximum amount of time that such a permit may be in effect is not to exceed two years. This permit will reach it's maximum two year life on 6/27/01. Per Garfield County zoning resolution 96-05, which adds section 3103.1.2 to Uniform Building Code, temporary permits may not be issued for a period that exceeds two years. Suggested Findings 1. That the building permit may be renewed by application to the Garfield County Building Department and payment of one half of the original permit fee. 2. That the temporary dwelling permit may not be renewed. Flow" • • GId c_, fwso 05 w 40160 06 11-1)111 1'-Il6a 01/2:1/611 4.1:1::171' ICi 6 OF 13 Section 161)5.11 Snow_Loada. Steve t Steve Hackett From: Steve Hackett Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2001 4:13 PM To: Mark Bean Cc: Caths Edinger; BOCC Admin Subject: Sandra & James Irvine Mark. 1 have reviewed the Irvines request for extensions of their Building Permit 7182, issued 5/27/99 and Temporary Mobile Home Permit 0476, issued 6/27199. Concerning the building permit, our governance for expiration, renewal or revocation is Uniform Building Code, 1994, Section 106.4.4. which states that the work authorized by the permit may not be suspended or abandoned for any period of 180 days after the work has commenced. It is also stated in that section that the permit may be extended for a period of 180 days, at the discretion of the building official, upon written application by the owner, but that a permit may not be extended more than once. This permit was to have expired by the above limitation on 5/19/00. The Irvines requested an extension of time, in writing, which was approved by our building official on 5/10/00. The last inspection done on this permit, that indicated that work was progressing, was done on 8/24/00. The second expiration of this permit was on 2/24/01. No further extensions of time are allowed. Concerning the Temporary Mobile Home Permit, our governance for expiration, renewal or revocation Is Garfield County Resolution 96-05, Section 3103.1.2, which states that such permits may not be renewed for any longer than two years. This permit has been extended three times and reaches it's maximum two year limit on 6/27/01. Steve 1 Mitt?
