Also included_ are small areas of gravel bars. Included areas make up a:bnut 10 percent of the total acreae. The Atencio soil is deep and well drained. It formed in alluvium derived dominantly from sandstone and shale. Typically, the surface layer is r.eddisri Kray sanJy loan b inches thick. The subsoil is sandy loan and sandy clay loam 16 inches thick. The upper 6 inches of the substraturn is gravelly sandy loam. The lower part to a depth of 60 inches is sand and gravel. The soil is noncalcareoua to a depth of 20 inches and calcareous below that depth.
