Re: Heley Exemption Application
Dear William and Sandy:
As you are aware, yesterday the Board of County Commissioners moved to deny your
request for an "exemption from the rules of subdivision" at a publicly noticed meeting. The
Board of County Commissioners found that the application did not meet the requirements of
section 8:00 of the Garfield County Subdivision Regulations of 1984, as amended. More
specifically, the application lacked evidence of an adequate legal access to the property. The
Board of County Commissioners informed you that applying for a special use permit for an
accessory dwelling unit is an option you may want to pursue once you gain the necessary
access to your property. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the event you have any
