A. DANIELSON State Engineer We have reviewed the above referenced exemption application. The wells proposed as the water supply would intercept ground water which is tributary to Rifle Creek, an over-apprDpriated stream. Since new wells would injure senior vested water rights, well permits cannot be issued by this office and we cannot recommend approval of the McAlary Exemption. HDS/GDV:mvf cc: Lee Enewold, Div. Eng. Class VIII .(Purple color) Limitations are such that they preclude use of land for commercial plant production. The Department of Agriculture Land Capablylity Classification has eight broad capability classes. 'Subdivisions of these'broad classes are used for detailed conservation planning. These subdivisions are referred to as Capability Units (treatment groups) on Cropland, as Range Sites op . Rangelands, and as Woodland sites on forested lands. In the classification, permanent limitations of soil, slope, erosion_.aod climate determine the capability elites. Specific limitations of suit- ability for crops and needs of treatment determine the Capability Unit of croplands. Potential of the land to produce a certain kind and amount of grass determines Range Sites. Potential of the land to pro- duce a certain amount and kind of woodland products determines Woodland sites. 2(2) ADS e_..., '" /7,9 • LEGAL D;:..:.. -i PT1c:: LCC \ IO: i C.2 'i T T_'1' :7-4'•_'G/.._/.zl_._ • /./A, 0 0,0 Tnroe (3) test holco Test 1. hole Dopt hs (24 (:iinii n ) -7-- Diameter . .,Diameter of Te :t tlol: Water Romani^r, .._ •i c: ': t IC Ld Soak J-7 2 L/ 3 /'4/ /y„ •r // // t. ,, 5-1'h,w l...u_ _ _ liiti._ +.. _ /:ter=_ .iyl S—-yI/i11 ''A✓ /4" tom,,. %•S l%+1 o1 - /'or : SIG:!ATU' // •— ft a.e,, U (5' D it /41 .LEP-7.1/ 1.4)/g2-eia T"' eLE /),/ci e24 o0 .C/ ceo ce)C L L :-o r Ru,.
