Per your request, I reviewed the footings on the Edman Project based on the soils
report by HP Geotech.
The footings were designed with an assumed bearing pressure of 2000 PSF. The
soils report indicates an allowable bearing pressure of 3000 PSF is to be used.
Based on this, the continuous strip footings that were 18" wide may be reduced to
16" wide. The isolated pad footings that were previously noted as Type C with 3'-0"
x 3'-0" may be reduced to Type B footings with 2'-6" x 2'-6" dimensions.
