Dear Mr. Cook,
I am writing to clarify some of the field conditions noted by the inspector for the wood framing
portion of this project.
1. Connection of I joist rafters to dropped steel and glulam beams: No hanger is required at
these locations. Reference details 2, 7, 11, 15/S4.01.
2. Glulam beams at wall pockets: Connection of the glulam to the wall framing using (3)
SDS %" timber screws is acceptable.
3. Connection of 6x6 columns to glulam beams: where a connection is not specifically
detailed, using (2) %" lag screws to connect the column to the beam is acceptable.
4. Shear wall anchor bolts: the 3" square plate washers may be omitted if the Titan
concrete screw anchors with molded washer head are utilized,

COVERED WITH EITHER DRYWALL WHERE SHOWN ON EXISTING DRAWINGS OR FSK 25
VAPOR BARRIER AT ROOF, WALLS WITH OUT GYP AND ON THE TOP CORD OF THE LOWER
WOOD FRAMING WHERE THERE IS A T&G WOOD CEILING. DUCTWORK FROM RETURN AIR
GRILLES OUTSIDE OF THE HALLWAYS TO BE DUCTED TO THE RETURN AIR PLENUM. ABOVE
CEILING AREAS OUTSIDE OF THE RETURN AIR PLENUM TO BE SPRFNKLERED. THE UPPER
FRAMING OF THE OVERFRAMED AREA TO BE INSULATED. THE LOWER ROOF BENEATH THE
OVER FRAMED AREA TO BE LEFT WITHOUT INSULATION TO ALLOW HEAT TO PENETRATE UP
INTO THE OVERFRAMED AREA. A TRANSFER GRILLE TO BE PLACED IN VESTIBULE 102 TO
ALLOW HEAT TRANSFER TO OVERFRAMED AREA.
PLEASE REVIEW AND PROVIDE COST IMPACT INFORMATION NOT LATER THAN AUGUST 19TH,
2016. PLEASE PROCEED WITH THIS WORK AND CALL FOR ANY CLARIFICATIONS.
