• If yo u antlclp~te obtaining a water-tap from the City of Rifle, please provide a letter lndlca !l ng that
the City Will provide water service. Req1.1lted to submit building permit application.
• OWTS requires a septic permit appllcat lon to be submitted with the building permit application .
• A separate electrical permitmlJSt be obtained from the Stata of Colorado Electri cal Board.
• At the time of building permit submlttal, you are required to show proof of legaJ ·and adequate
access to the site. This may include proof of right to use a private easement, County Road &
Bridge permit, or Colorado Department of Highway permit , Including a Notice to Proceed. T he
County Road & Bridge Department can be reac hed at 970-625-8601 .
• If you anticipate excavating or grading prior to Issuance of a building permit, you wi ll be required
to obtain a separate grading permit. ·
• If you belong to a Homeowne rs Association (HOA) it is your responsibility 10 obtain written
approval, If requ ired. .
• Provide copies of any Resolutions end/or Lana Use Permits associated wl1h this property.

ldentical,'leglbla and to scale. All plans will be checked at the counter for completeness. If any of the
required Information ts missing, the building permit application cannot be !ilCcepted.

footing to top of wall).

• Footmg· and foundation details specifying reinforcement and referenced on plans .
• Framing plens for each floor lever and roof. Al l beams, columns, Joists, rafters· and trusses spec~ed . Pre~ma.nufactured st ructures require the engineers stamp , signature and date .
• Fr~m1ng /connection details, braced wall lines , shear wall schedule. location and hold downs.

The Building Division will coll ee1 a Plan Rev iew fee at 'time of applJcation submittal. The permit fee, as
well as any Road Impact fees will be collecte d when the permit Is Issued.
The perm it application must be signed by the owner or ·by person hevlng written authority from the owner
to act as their representative. ' ·
Building cannot be ocoupied until a Certifiaate at Occupancy (CO) is issued . Using the building without a
CO will be o~n s !dered an Illegal occupancy and may be ground.9 for vacating the premises. (Fina l/CO
inspection requ irements will be attached to your approved field set of plans.)
