The following items are required by Garfield County for a final inspection:
1. A final Electrical Inspection from the Colorado State Electrical Inspector.
Permanent address assigned by the Garfield County Building Department posted where
readily visible from access road
3. A finished roof, a lockable house, complete exterior siding, excterior doors and windows
installed. a complete kitchen with cabinets, a sink with hot & cold running water, kitchen
floor coverings, counter tops and finished walls, ready for stove and refrigerator, all necessary
plumbing.
4. A complete bathroom, with wash bowl, tub or shower, toilet stool. hot ti cold running, water,
floors and walls finished an a privacy door.
5. All steps outside or inside over three (3) steps must have handrails, guardrails on balconies
or decks over 30" high constructed to all 1994 UBC requirements.
6. Outside grading done to where water will detour away from the building.
7. Exceptions to the outside steps, decks and grading may be made upon the demonstration of
extenuating circumstances. i.e., weather, but a Certificate of Occupancy will not be issued
until all the required items are completed and a final inspection made.
A CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL ALL THE ABOVE
ITEMS FL -WE BEEN COMPLETED.

A routine review of our open building permits indicates that we have not received a request for an inspection
on this permit since 3- g y8
Please be advised that building permits expire, per Uniform Building Code, section 106.4.4 and 106.4.5, 180
days after they are issued, if the work authorized by the permit has not commenced or is suspended or
abandoned. The permit may be extended by written request to the building official, showing that
circumstances beyond your control have caused a delay. Permits that have been expired for 180 days or less
may be renewed for one half of the original permit fee. Permits that have been expired for longer than 180
days require payment of a new full permit fee.
Please contact this office at your very earliest convenience, in writing, to advise about the status of your
permitted work
If you have not responded within thirty days from the receipt of this notice the permit will be closed
and a permanent notation will be placed in the property records at the County Assessors office that
indicates that the work permitted was not inspected, is not approved and that the building or area may
not be legally occupied.

Dear Vaughn & Shana,
This is to advise you that we have received no response from you to our letters of March 14 and May 15,
2002 concerning expired building permits #6651, for a finished basement and #7630 for a detached garage.
Permits expired by statute 180 days after a previous inspection if no further inspections are called. It is a
violation of CRS 30-28-205 & 210, Uniform Building Code, to occupy the permitted spaces until a final
inspection is completed.
You are hereby given notice, pursuant to the above statutes, that you must completely correct the violations
within thirty (30) days of the date this notice is received. Please be advised that violation of the above
statutes is a misdemeanor crime punishable by a fine of not more than $100.00 or imprisonment for not more
than ten days, or both, and that each day that the violation continues is deemed to be a separate offense.
If you have any questions regarding what actions are required to achieve compliance, or you wish to report
