I understand and agree to abide by the above conditions for occupancy, use and the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for the dwelling under building permit # Signature prmtcond.lst Date Memo To: Don Owens, Garfield County Building Official From: Jack Jones, Glenwood Springs Fire Marshall Date: January 22, 1998 Subject: Holy Cross Expansion Don, To re -cap our meeting, the following items I would like addressed through the permitting process. 1. If the welding room exceeds 3000 square feet or is not properly separated from the rest of the building, sprinklers will be required. 2. The fire alarm system in the main office building will have to be upgraded to cover the proposed new offices. Any work on this system needs to be performed by licensed fire alarm installers. Plans and specifications need to be submitted to my office for approval before the work on the system begins. 3. It should be noted that if the new building is totally enclosed at some future date, a sprinkler system may be required at that time. 4. Access appears to be good. The plans show two fire hydrants and the extension of the 12" water line. It may be necessary to check water flows to insure adequate supply. These are the only comments that I have at this time. If you need more information or if I can be of further help, please give me a call. Adequate and complete information will prevent delays in the plan review process. Reviewing a plan and the discovery that required information has not been provided by the applicant may result in the delay of the permit issuance and in proceeding with building construction. The owner or contractor may be required to provide this information before the plan review may proceed. This causes delays because other plans that are in line for review may be given attention before the new information may be reviewed after it has been provided to the Building Department. Please review this document to determine if you have enough information to design your project and provide adequate information to facilitate a plan review. If you do not, it may be helpful to obtain a book titled "Dwelling construction under the Uniform Building Code. This book is available to you through this department at our cost. Also, please consider using a design professional for assistance in your design and a construction professional for construction of your project.
