HomeMy WebLinkAboutAs-built 04.24.2017April 24, 2017 Jim Wilson Environmental Health Manager Garfield County Environmental Health Via Email: Jwiison ap.Garfieidcountv.com Dean Residence Septic Field Expansion As -Built Conformance Permit No. SEPT -8-09-1208 Dear Jim: SGM www.sgm-inc.com Vail Engineering prepared a design for construction of an Individual Sewage Disposal System (ISDS) to serve the Gambrel -Loft Barn addition located at 1136 County Road #129, Garfield County, Glenwood Springs, CO 81601, for Whitney and Megan Dean. The ISDS was completed by Starkworks Inc. in the month of August of 2009 under Permit No. SEPT -8-09-1208. The ISDS was designed and constructed to accommodate the existing home, with the addition of the Gambrel -Loft Barn. SGM reviewed the as -built documentation, photos, and field notes, on February 21, 2017. The proposed Loft Barn was connected to the existing ISDS system by installing a new 1,000 gallon septic tank with effluent filter and connected to the existing drain field by installing a 4" PVC service line at a 2% slope approximately 100 feet long with cleanouts before and after the septic tank. Additionally, the drain field was expanded by 336 square feet adsorption bed for the additional loading. The original design for the existing septic field that was permitted on 5/23/89, called for the same 1,000 gallon Septic Tank, and 260 sq ft. of absorption area per bedroom. This percolation rate was based upon site data of 1 inch of percolation in 13 minutes. The percolation test is attached. The more recent ADU addition that was permitted on 9/8/09 is one bedroom and placed an additional absorption area of 336 square feet. on line, in directly adjacent soils of similar properties.
