Report: Inspected high strength A325 bolting at the main frame, end wall frame,
and portal frame column, rafter, and beam connections. Also randomly
tested/verified A325 bolts were adequately tightened.
The high strength A325 bolting inspected above appeared to be in substantial
conformance with the plans, and the AISC/RCSC Specification for high strength
bolting except as noted below.
1) It appeared that the top connection seats at the light gauge columns end wall
framing grid line 6 were welded on (from the factory) at the wrong slope to match
roof rafters. Subsequently there was a gap at one side & the faying/connection
surfaces were not in firm contact. Please have structural engineer and/or metal
building manufacture review & provide fix if needed.
