Based upon our research with the Building and Planning Deparmen! it appears we need to correctthe recordedplat forthe Aspen Glen Planned Unit Developmentto accurately reflect current street names in Aspen Glen. In addition, to better protect the health and safety of our residents, we are changing street names that are similar or identical to other areas in Garfield Cormty to eliminate confusion with emergency senrice providers and the Cl€ft and Recorder's office. In accordance with paragraph 7.2 of the recorded Aspen Glen Master Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions, the Board of Directors of the Aspen Glen Homeoumers Association represents all properly owners in Asp€n Glen The Board has authorized the preparation and submittal of this land use application and has designated Leslie Lamont of Lamont Planning Services, LLC, as their owner's represeirtative in this prooess. kslie Lamont Iamont Planning Services, LLC 725 Melissa Lane Carbondale, CO 81623 Mr. F-nis Alldredge, Presidelrt Directors Aspen Glen Homeowners Association 0030 Bald Eagle Way Carbondale CO 81623 0il,80 Bald tugle Way Cubondale, CO 81623 Tel: (970) 963-3362 Fu: (970) 704-9E71 Aspen Glen Planned Unit Development Corrected Plat Application to Correct Street Names INTRODUCTION The applicanf Asp€rl Glen Homeowners Association (HOA), seeks to correct the recorded plat for Aspn Glen Planned Unit Development in order to change various sfreet narn€s in the commrmity. This application is submitted on behalf of the Aspen Glen Homeoumqs Association Boald of Directors, Enis Alldredge Pnesident In the oover letter, Mr. Alldredge confirmed his role as the President of the Homeowners Association and authorized Lamont PIanniW Services, LLC to represent them in this process. This plat correction prcpos€s 1o "6flps1 this misundestanding, In addition, some Asp€,lr Glen street narnes are is use elsewhere in Garfield Cotmty. Due to the potential for confusion particularly in an emergency situation this plat correction also proposm to clearrry these redrmdancies. Because Aspen Glen is relatively nenrwe plan to change our street names and use names that are unique to Garfield County. The bomdaries of all parcels that were established whenthe original plats were recorded rcmain the same. No new developme,nt rights are proposed as part of this plat correction and no changes are proposed to the conditions of approval that were required uihe,n the Aspen Glem Planned Unit Development was approved, per Resolution No. 92-056. PROCESS Recently, the Garfield County Building and Planning Deparhent notified the Design Review Administrator of Aspen Glen about the discrepancies in some of the commrmity's stneet names. This was discovered as buildiag permits and certificates of occupancy were being issued. Re.search began with cormty staffto determine the extent of the problem. Based upon the recommendation of the County Building and Planniog stafi, the Aspen Glen Board of Directors initiated this plat correction- In orderto pre, pare this applicationthe Design Review Adaninistrator, Leslie Lamont, began to coordinate with David Mead in the Building and Planning Department as well as the Comty Clerk's office to identiS new street nam€s. Aspen Glen property owners have been notified of the pending changes via the community Newsletter. It is my understanding that you have already spoken to Bonnie Chance, our nelghbor on Midland Loop in Aspen Glen. It is my understanding that the commissioners approved the changing of the Midland Loop addresses in Aspen Glen on or about December 5-7, 2006. As a resident of this address, I would like to request the formal denial of the completion of this process. I understand that this has already been approved by the county commissioners, however I am not sure they are aware that no homeowners at this address were notlfied, NOR was any input from the homeowners sought prior to this voluntary decision. The full-time residents of Midland Loop in Aspen Glen were neither notified, vote taken, nor was contact made before we were made aware - by chance - of the process in the works of our street being voluntarily renamed. Thus, to avoid the great expense and personat ramification of this change we would llke to formally request that the Garfield Commissioners stop this formal review of the name change on the Aspen Glen Fairways plat immediately until residents of the affected area can be notifled and their input noted. Respectfully............ Rosanne and Alex Evonitz 283 Midland Loop Carbondale, CO. 81623 963-8s80 ta29DN6
